Happy July everyone! I don't know about you, but all of this time at home has got me endlessly scrolling through Instagram, Pinterest, and Tiktok, and let me tell you, I see TONS of cute fashion inspo that I just have to share with you all! I've decided to start a little segment I like to call "Top 5" where I share my favorite trends of the season. Since it's summer right now, which is my favorite season both weather and fashion wise, I so excited to share my Top 5 favorite summer trends of 2020!
Number 5: Chunky Boots with Feminine Dresses
What is it about a chunky combat boot paired with a pastel, lacy dress? I don't know about you, but I feel like the ultimate cool girl when I sport my big boots with a girly dress. This look makes me feel like I can conquer the world! Check out some inspiration for this look below!
Number 4: Paper Bag Pants
This next trend is my go-to for professional wear! Plus, who can resist comfortable dress pants? Gone are the days of tight, low-rise pants, and taking their place is high-waisted paper bag pants. These pants are so easy to style and can truly be worn for any occasion. The best part is they also come in denim! My favorite way to style them is by tucking in a long or short sleeved blouse, and adding an outerwear piece like a cardigan or suit coat for a polished look. Number 3: Oversized Gold Chain Necklaces
These necklaces have quickly become on of my favorite jewelry trends this summer! Everywhere I look, I see fashionable women (and men!) wearing chunky gold chain necklaces. I also see some variations of this necklace with little padlock or key pendants and layered chains too. I finally found a great set of gold chain necklaces from the online fashion store Shein. The quality isn't super great, but they work until I can find something I like that is a better brand! Check out these super cool necklaces!
Number 2: Square-Toed Heels
I don't know what it is about a square-toed sandal, but I'm obsessed. I see them all over celebrity Instagram pages, and now I can find them in almost every store I look. They definitely scream summer to me, and I think they look great with a fun dress or even paper bag pants! I've gathered some of my favorite square-toed heel looks for you all:
And finally, at Number 1: Dad Sneakers
Yes, I am posting another shoe trend, but you guys, I love the look of dad sneakers with a casual sporty outfit. I also love them with dresses. For whatever reason, these shoes are pretty versatile (and comfy!). Brands like New Balance have really gained popularity from Tiktok videos and Instagram bloggers, and for good reason. They are so on trend, and did I mention they were comfortable?? Now you don't have to sacrifice your feet in stiletto heels in order to look fashionable. It truly is taking all of my will power to not buy 10 of each of these different trends right now. I think that fashion is evolving in the best type of way (especially when it comes to comfortable fashion), and I'm so excited to see what the fall brings us!
