As the world continues to evolve, one thing is clear – the fashion industry is charging ahead full steam. With each season bringing fresh collections and innovative designs, it’s exciting to see what the future holds for style. Right now, the Resort 2021 collections are taking center stage for me as they're style is right up my alley, and I’ve been keeping a close eye on the trends emerging from other shows as. I’m absolutely thrilled with the stunning new garments and accessories making their way down the runway.

If you've been following my blog for a while, you know I’m a sucker for denim, and let me tell you – it’s everywhere this season. Denim is making a major comeback, but it’s not just about jeans anymore. From oversized jackets to statement skirts and chic accessories, denim is proving to be more versatile than ever. So, I’ve rounded up 7 of my favorite runway denim trends that I’m excited to wear this fall. Keep reading to see how I plan to style them!

Check out this great video that inspired me to discover my own favorite Demin trends!

Number 1: Vintage-Inspired Denim

Now, vintage denim trends have been around for quite some time now, but these fashionably upcycled looks just have a special place in my heart. These looks totally give off an "I shop at thrift stores and I'm cooler than you" type of vibe, and if fact, if it looks like you raided your mom's closet, then you have nailed this look. What I'm seeing from designers like Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini and Ermanno Scervino in their latest shows from Resort 2021 are dark wash denims, high waists, and wide legs that give homage to the ghosts of fashion's past in a new, fresh kind of way. I am loving these dark, ultra-high waist, belted jeans from Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini's collection because they possess the feelings of low-key, laid-back nights without being too outrageous. Paired with a tucked in flowing blouse or simple bustier, these jeans elevate the entire look.

I love the look for these jeans, which is why you'll definitely catch me wearing something similar to them this fall. A vintage flair to a modern outfit is very in right now.

Number 2: Embroidered Jeans

You may not know this about me, but I am an embroidery enthusiast! In fact, I designed and embroidered my own custom jean jacket that I wrote about earlier this spring. (If you missed that post, read about it here.) What I'm seeing one the runway right now in regards to embroidery and denim has excited me greatly, because it truly is right up my alley. I'm obsessed with Ermanno Scervino's Resort 2021 collection because he showcases a few embroidered denim shorts. I can absolutely get behind this look, in fact I am all here for it. I want to see even more embroidered shorts and jeans in the coming season! Just look at these gorgeous shorts, I'm loving the pop of color the embroidery gives in contrast to the feminine white blouse he's paired with them. This look is not complete without the leather boots, layered jewelry, and matching denim handbag seen on the model.

Like I said before, I'm a major embroidery fan, so these shorts are something you can find me wearing throughout the end of the warm season here in Minnesota.

Number 3: Front Seamed Jeans

Now here is a denim trend that I believe will transcend beyond just a single season. I'm seeing front seamed jeans all over lately, so naturally they are also popping up on the runway. One such denim designer is Isabel Marant, and she is one of my favorites for a reason. Her style feels like a 90's bohemian dream meets femme chic, and in her Resort collection, she includes one of my favorite front seam jeans. It is more avant garde than what you'll probably see people on the street wearing because of the stirrup hemmed pant leg, but this screams très chic.

I can't be the only one who looks at front seamed denim and think "I want to wear that", right?

Number 4: Color Block Denim

I have seen a number of designers producing some amazing color block denim garments, and I am in love with this look. Everywhere I look on social media, I see people hopping on the color block train too, and that is why you'll catch me sporting this trend as well. This look is almost avant garde but in an easy to wear way that I can wear casually out on the street. One of my favorite color block looks is this simple wide-legged jean with dark pockets from Victoria Beckham's Resort 2021 collection. This jean gives off major vintage vibes as well, so it's a trend two-for-one in my book!

There are also a ton of different versions on color block, like jeans that have a lighter denim strip down the sides of the leg. Either way, who said jeans have to be boring?

Number 5: Grey Denim

This color palette gives off a femme meets masculine aesthetic, which I am absolutely here for. I love that clothing on and off the runway is becoming more gender neutral and inclusive of all people's unique self style. A high waisted, straight cut denim gives me cool girl vibes in a whole new way. When those grey jeans are paired with a grey top and black accessories, I can hardly contain myself from going out and immediately trying to replicate the feeling this look gives off.

I'm feeling major power from this outfit. I'd feel powerful dressed like this too honestly.

And there you have it, I will be stocking my closets full of trendy denim for this fall. I cannot tell you how much fun it has been keeping up with the Resort 2021 show this summer, and its been incredible to see what designers have been working on during a pandemic where everyone is suck at home. I am blown away by the creativity that is being showcased, and I can't wait to go shopping!

As always, stay fashionable
