I love a good sweat sesh, but not all workouts are created equal. And what is a girl supposed to do while the gym is closed?? It is so easy to just fall into a slump at home, becoming unmotivated and telling yourself you will jump back into it once the world opens up again. I mean, the couch is right there, and it is calling my name. Don't fall for it, it's a trap! It may not seem like it, but you can get an amazing workout at home, with little to no equipment what so ever. So grab a water bottle, shimmy into those yoga pants, and let's get to it!

*I will be talking about my favorite free workouts that I've found on YouTube. Don't worry, full credit is given to these amazing channels! I just want to talk about what has worked well for me!
#1: Ali Freie's Yoga Sculpt
You guys, I cannot tell you how much of a game changer Ali's workouts are. They are 45 minutes of a quick paced yoga flow mixed with cardio and the ultimate ab workout. It is the total package of home workouts. As of right now, she only has a few 45 minute workout videos posted, but they are so worth checking out. I mean, I have abs now from doing these almost every day. These workouts are more on the intense side, but she does give some alternate moves and you can always take a moment in child's pose before jumping back into the video. She is also a Minnesota girl too, which is awesome! (Midwest represent!!) She also hosts live workouts sometimes as well, so check those out!

#2: Alo Yoga
This is a great channel for a Vinyasa style yoga workout that tons your whole body. I like this channel for when I'm a little on the tired and sore side, and they have tons of videos to choose from. I also like that some videos are quick 10 minute workouts and others are longer yoga flows. They do an awesome job showing you how to do the yoga poses, so even if you have never done yoga before, you can absolutely follow along and have a great workout. You don't need any equipment, but I recommend using a mat or a rug so you don't hurt your knees on hard wood! This channel doesn't just have yoga; there are also great cardio and HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) videos, so there is something for everyone!

#3: Popsugar Fitness
These videos also have something for everyone! I love the variety of different workout classes I can do from this channel, from yoga, to barre, to kickboxing, and everything in between. The best part about these videos is when they are teaching the class, there is someone modeling the modified version of the workout and another person modeling the advanced moves for if you really want to push yourself. The majority of these videos don't require any equipment, so they are perfect for an at home workout! They are super fun, and for some reason, I always get super hyped up from the people leading the class. Talk about a fun and effective workout!!

And last, but not least, #4: Running
You guys, I want to be perfectly clear. I have never been a runner, but by making myself get up and run just one or two miles, I've found that I feel so much better, physically and mentally. Running for me has always been a mental game, but by making myself run just 2-3 days a week, I feel like I have better overall mental health. Maybe it's because it gives me a chance to get fresh air and sunlight, but I always feel so good after running. During the run, it can sometimes feel like a challenge, but that is where I am also learning to strengthen my mental game by repeating that I am capable of doing challenging things and pushing myself through to the end. In a way, it makes me feel proud of myself.
So now that you know my home workout secrets, let me know if you try any of these and let me know what you think! Also, show these channels some love by subscribing to them! Since everyone has to workout at home right now, they are posting all sorts of new content, so you can know whenever they post something new! I must say, I am working out harder and more consistently at home then I did at the gym, and I think it is because I am keeping myself more accountable right now, which is easier to do when you have more time to focus on it. I'm hoping that now that I've gotten into a habit, I can keep it up just as much once we are all free to go wherever we please. Make it a great workout today!!
