One of the big projects I have right now is going through and cleaning out my closet. I just love to accumulate clothing that I think is super cute, but I always end up never actually wearing most of it. Listen, I'm trying to get better at this, so I'm going to take some of these pieces and do some styling ideas with them, so that I can actually wear them out and about sometime.
This blazer is one of these pieces. I bought it on sale from White House Black Market as a professional looking outerwear option to wear to school. I brought it home, took off the tags, and hung it in my closet, never to look at it again. Well, until now, that is. I love a good blazer, don't get me wrong, but for some reason, I kept telling myself that I didn't have anything to go with it. Now that I'm going through all of my clothes, I thought it would be fun to take a moment to style a great, professional outfit that I can wear to work (is it weird that I'm getting to the point where I miss wearing dress clothes?)
Since this blazer is such a great neutral shade of grey, I thought that it would pair well with a white satin bodysuit blouse and black girlfriend-cut dress pants to create a sleek and sophisticated office look. The great thing about the cut of these pants is they hit right above the ankle, so a pointed toe mule shoe finishes off the look. I also added a simple knotted gold chain necklace to add some interest to the look. Mixed metals are really trendy right now, and since the blazer has silver buttons, I thought I'd mix in some gold with the necklace to make this the ultimate "cool girl" office look.

For after an work happy hour look, you can remove the blazer to make this a little more casual. Perfect for a Friday afternoon in the summer out on a patio somewhere for a cold one!

I'm so excited to wear this outfit to work (eventually), it feels so fresh yet classic at the same time. Let me know what you think of this look, or if you have a grey blazer at home, let me know your favorite way to style it below!
